Std. I – VIII follow the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) pattern. Std. IX follows the pattern of Unit Tests and Term Examinations as prescribed by the S.S.C. Board.
Std. I -VIII
The new evaluation system (i.e. CCE) introduced from the Academic year 2010-2011 involves Formative and Summative Evaluation.
In each term there is one Formative Evaluation and one Summative Evaluation.
The Formative Evaluation is a continuous ongoing process done throughout the year whereby a student is evaluated on the basis of certain given criteria. It is an ongoing internal assessment.
The Summative Evaluation is similar to I Term Exam and Final Exam, held at the end of each term.
Instead of marks only grades are assigned for each subject as per the continuous Comprehensive Evaluation directives.
Std. IX
Two Unit Tests and Two Terminal Examinations are held during the year and reports are issued within 3 weeks. For promotion, the Unit Tests and the two Terminal Examinations carry equal weightage.
Provided a student passes on the total, grace marks will be awarded according to the regulations of the Department of Education.
A student who takes or gives dishonest help at an examination will be debarred from the rest of the examination and he / she will get a zero. A student may be dismissed in a serious case of cheating or if he/she is caught cheating more than once. If a student fails in any subject he/she loses the merit of the distinction.
Promotions refused will not be reconsidered. Only in very exceptional cases, applications for the verification of marks will be accepted by the Principal.
No re-test or re-exam will be held for Std. IX students. Absence from exams should have a valid reason.
The rules stipulated by the State Government will be strictly followed for promotion of students of Std. IX.
A student who has not paid all his/her fees will not be allowed to get any benefits from the school.
